Bangladesh: Ex-MP held on border while fleeing to India

Dhaka, Sep 12 (UNI) Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have arrested former Member of Parliament of Raozan (Chittagong-6) A B M Fazle Karim Chowdhury while attempting to illegally flee to India, media reports said on Thursday.
According to Dhaka Tribune reports, Public Relations Officer of the force Shariful Islam confirmed that he was arrested from the border area near Akhaura, Brahmanbaria.
The former MP had allegedly gone into hiding since the Awami League (AL) government's fall on August 5 due to the student movement, and several cases have been filed against him in Chittagong, reports added.
