Bangladeshi Chief Justice resigns amid pressure from protesters

Dhaka, Aug 10 (UNI) Bangladeshi Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan has tendered his resignation to the Ministry of Law amid pressure by student protesters, Bangladeshi media reported on Saturday.
The move comes after a protest leader issued an ultimatum demanding that Hassan step down, the Dhaka Tribune newspaper reported. President Mohammad Shahabuddin is expected to take action on his resignation.
Five Justices of the Supreme Court's Appellate Division were reportedly going to resign alongside Chief Justice Hassan.
