Baramati civic polls: MVA to contest unitedly against Ajit Pawar faction

Pune, Nov 18 (UNI) In the upcoming Baramati Municipal Council elections, the Maha Vikas Aghadi will contest unitedly against Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), announced Yuvendra Pawar, a young leader from the Sharad Pawar-led NCP group.
To keep the Ajit Pawar faction away from power in the Baramati Municipal Council, all parties within the Maha Vikas Aghadi are preparing to contest the elections jointly. Independent candidates will also be included in this alliance, Yuvendra Pawar said.
So far, the Pawar family has maintained a strong hold over the Baramati Municipal Council. However, after a split in the original NCP into the Ajit Pawar group and the Sharadchandra Pawar group, the upcoming election is expected to be intense.
