Bengal govt to launch ‘Annapurna Yojana’ from June 1, women to receive Rs 3,000 monthly

Kolkata, May 20 (UNI) As promised during the election, the BJP government in West Bengal government will launch the ‘Annapurna Yojana’ scheme from June 1 under which eligible women will receive Rs 3,000 every month directly in their bank accounts.
The state Finance Department on Tuesday issued a detailed notification explaining the application process, eligibility criteria and verification mechanism for the new scheme, while mentioning some eligibility criteria in the notification.
The Prime Minister and union Home Minister had repeatedly promised financial assistance for women through the Annapurna scheme during the election campaign.
