Bengal: Speculation of split deepens in Trinamool Congress after "signatures" of 19 MPs surface

Kolkata, June 12 (UNI) Fresh speculation over a possible split within the Trinamool Congress Parliamentary party has intensified after copies of several pages bearing the "signatures" of 19 party MPs emerged in the public domain, triggering political debate in West Bengal and beyond.
According to sources close to a group of dissident MPs, the signatories have allegedly written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla seeking recognition as a separate parliamentary bloc.
However, significant questions remain unanswered. It is yet to be established whether the pages carrying the signatures are indeed part of a formal letter, whether such a communication was ever submitted to the Speaker, or whether the Speaker's office has received it. The authenticity of the documents circulating publicly could not be independently verified.
