Bharat Jodo Yatra-like movement will be launched seeking ballot voting: Patole

Markadwadi, Dec 10 (UNI) To safeguard the right to vote in a democracy and ensure elections are conducted via ballot papers, a large-scale movement similar to the Bharat Jodo Yatra will soon be launched, starting from Markadwadi itself, said Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole on Tuesday.
Interacting with villagers of Markadwadi, Patole said democracy in neighbouring countries is being dismantled, and efforts to undermine democratic systems in India have begun.
In a democracy, the voter is considered the king, but now the vote of this "king" is being stolen. People harbour doubts about EVM machines, which is why the residents of Markadwadi have shown the way to the nation by demanding voting through ballot papers to ensure transparency.
