Bharathiraja final journey begins, last rites tomorrow at his native place with full state honours

Chennai, June 10 (UNI) Scores of people bid a tearful adieu to veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja as his final journey began from Chennai tonight for his last rites to be held at his native Theni district of Tamil Nadu with full state honours tomorrow afternoon.
The body of iconic director, who passed away today, was kept at his Neelankarai residence here, where people from various walks of life, including Chief Minister Vijay, paid their last respects.
After tens and hundreds of people,including political party leaders, actors, actresses, directors, producers, lyricists and a large number of people paid their homage, his body was taken to his native place tonight.

HDK says Karnataka has no claim over HMT land

Bengaluru, July 9 (UNI) Escalating the confrontation between the Centre and the Karnataka Government over the future of key public sector enterprises, union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel HD Kumaraswamy on Friday asserted that the State Government had "no claim whatsoever" over the HMT land, accusing the Congress dispensation of creating obstacles in the revival of HMT and other strategic PSUs instead of supporting them.
