Bishnoi community mourns the loss of Swami Rajendranand

Chandigarh, Aug 15 (UNI) Swami Rajendranand, a revered saint of the Bishnoi community, passed away today, after suffering a heart attack during an event in Dabwali, Sirsa. Residing at the Haridwar ashram, he dedicated his life to the service and welfare of cows. His sudden demise has led to the cancellation of a scheduled event at the Bishnoi temple in Hisar on Saturday.
Former MP Kuldeep Bishnoi expressed deep grief, stating that Swami Rajendranand’s passing is an irreparable loss for his followers and the community. Known for his discourses on cow protection, Swami Rajendranand donated all offerings from these events to cow welfare initiatives. He frequently visited Hisar, Fatehabad, and nearby areas to promote cow conservation.
Two months ago, Swami Rajendranand led a Bishnoi delegation to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah on June 9, 2025. During the meeting, they presented four key demands: OBC reservation for the Bishnoi community at the central level, renaming Jodhpur Airport after martyr Amrita Devi Bishnoi, protecting Khejri trees, and declaring Khejrali a World Heritage Site.
