BJD slams Odisha CM for releasing video of conversation with gangrape victim

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15 (UNI) The Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD), the women's wing of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), today strongly criticized Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for releasing a video of his conversation with the Odia medical student who was gang raped in Durgapur, West Bengal.
Senior BMJD leaders alleged that making the victim's conversation public amounted to a violation of Supreme Court guidelines prohibiting disclosure of a sexual assault survivor's identity.
Addressing a press conference, BMJD Senior General Secretary Tukuni Sahu said that law and order in Odisha had deteriorated sharply during the 15 months of BJP rule.
