BJD to launch agitation demanding CBI probe into Odisha Police SI recruitment scam

Bhubaneswar, Oct 4 (UNI) The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today announced plans to launch an agitation demanding a CBI investigation into the Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam, alleging involvement of the state government.
BJD senior general secretary Prithiranjan Ghadei and Biju Yuva Janata Dal president Chinmaya Sahoo told reporters that since the scam occurred within the police department, it is inappropriate for the Crime Branch, which is part of the same department, to investigate the case.
Ghadei said that the recruitment exam was initially assigned to an ITI institution but was later outsourced to two different agencies.
