BJP activist rescued: Seven arrested in Solapur kidnap plot

Solapur, Aug 8 (UNI) Solapur police foiled a kidnapping attempt targeting a Bharatiya Janata Party worker, Sharanu Hande, and arrested seven suspects linked to the incident. The victim, found seriously injured last night, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.According to investigators, Nationalist Congress Party (SP) worker Amit Sarvase orchestrated the abduction at gunpoint and sword-point near midnight, stemming from an old enmity.
Upon receiving the family’s alert, police deployed four teams and sealed exit routes from Maharashtra.A search operation intercepted a vehicle in Karnataka, and rescued the injured Hande who was rushed to Solapur for medical care.
The MIDC police station registered a kidnapping case against Sarvase and six accomplices, arresting all by Friday morning.
