BJP demands rollback of proposed 100-box apple procurement cap under MIS

Shimla, Jun 18 (UNI) The BJP had launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh over its proposed decision to procure only 100 apple boxes per orchardist under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS), alleging that the move would severely impact thousands of apple growers across the state.
BJP state spokesperson Sandeepani Bhardwaj said on Thursday that the proposed change in the MIS procurement policy had created widespread concern among both small and large orchardists.
He termed the decision “anti-grower” and claimed it reflected the government's failure to understand the challenges faced by the horticulture sector, which contributes significantly to the state's economy.
