BJP promises 'fear-free' industrial climate in Bengal, targets past policies

Kolkata, May 12 (UNI) West Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya on Tuesday urged industrialists from across the country to invest in the state, promising a "fear-free" environment for business and asserting that no political party would demand money from entrepreneurs for setting up industries in the state.
Speaking at an event organised by the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bhattacharya criticised the industrial policies of the previous government and claimed that Bengal lacked an atmosphere conducive to the growth of talent and enterprise.
Addressing an audience comprising industrialists and members of the Bengali film industry, the BJP leader alleged that several businessmen who participated in the state's annual Global Business Summit during the Trinamool Congress regime had shifted their investments outside Bengal.
