BJP, Uddhav Sena men clash at Santacruz; police steps up vigil

Mumbai Nov 15 ( UNI) A confrontation broke out at Santacruz on Saturday after BJP and Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) workers came face-to-face, leading to aggressive sloganeering from both sides. The situation turned volatile, prompting police to increase security in the area.
The clash erupted near the Taj Hotel where the BJP was launching a new workers’ union in the presence of Maharashtra BJP president Ravindra Chavan. However, the Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction), which already has an active workers’ union operating in the same hotel, strongly objected to the BJP’s move.
According to the Thackeray faction’s union, most of employees of Taj Hotel are not members of the newly formed BJP union, and yet the BJP was insisting on establishing a parallel organization. BJP workers dismissed these objections, leading to heightened tensions.
