BJP unveils BTC poll manifesto, vows developed BTAD in 5 years

Guwahati, Sep 12 (UNI) Promising a newly developed Bodoland Territorial Areas Districts (BTAD), the ruling BJP in Assam released the manifesto for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) election, scheduled for September 22, and assured full implementation of the Bodo Peace Accord.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, state BJP president Dilip Saikia, and a host of other saffron party leaders attended the manifesto release function held at the party headquarters at Basistha in Guwahati.
"We are committed to 100 percent on-ground implementation of the Bodo Peace Accord. We are going to include 5 lakh women of Bodoland under the Mukhiya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Achoni, a women entrepreneurs development scheme, and extend the Nijut Moina Achoni to all the students of BTAD," said Sarma while releasing the manifesto.

No act of hostility can intimidate Nagas: NSF

Dimapur, May 15 (UNI) Disturbed over the recent killings and abduction of some Naga civilians in some districts of Manipur, the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) Friday said, “No act of hostility can intimidate the Nagas.”
Condemning what it called “outrageous” and “inhuman ambush” on the church leaders of the Thadou Baptist Association between Kotzin and Kotler in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on May 13, it said three church leaders were killed and five others grievously injured in the ambush while they were returning from Churachandpur.

Court refuses to grant no coercive action against JDU MLA Anant Singh

Gopalganj, May 15 (UNI) District and Session Judge -III cum special judge MP and MLA court Friday refused to grant no coercive action against ruling JDU MLA from Mokama Assembly seat Anant Singh on his arrest and called for an up-to-date diary and lower court record.
While hearing the anticipatory bail application of Singh and Bhojpuri singer Gunjan Singh, the special judge Rajendra Kumar Pandey denied interim relief to the MLA from arrest and directed the prosecution to produce the case diary and lower court record.
The matter would be heard again on May 20.
