Blaize signs MoU with Telangana for electronics, semiconductor, AI initiatives

Davos/Hyderabad, Jan 21 (UNI) The Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy-led ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blaize, a California-based company known for designing energy-efficient AI hardware and full-stack software for data-centre AI computing.
The MoU was finalised during the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 meeting with Blaize Co-founder and CEO Dinakar Munagala.
The agreement is aimed at accelerating Telangana’s initiatives in electronics, semiconductor development and artificial intelligence, as the State steps up efforts to position Hyderabad as a global hub for emerging technologies.
Blaize, which has partners across Asia for hybrid AI infrastructure supporting smart cities and industry-focused solutions, already operates a dedicated R&D and engineering centre in Hyderabad.
Discussions during the meeting focused on Telangana’s support for scaling up Blaize’s Hyderabad facility and enabling expansion of advanced AI engineering capabilities.
Expressing happiness over the MoU, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said Telangana’s target of becoming an AI data centre hub is a key pillar of the State’s ambition for $3 trillion growth over the next two decades.
He noted that Telangana is rapidly emerging as a progressive, technology-driven State with high-impact initiatives in AI, data centres, quantum computing, hardware, automation and next-generation digital infrastructure.
Minister for IT and Industries D Sridhar Babu said the State is launching the ‘Telangana AI Innovation Hub’, describing it as a strategic nerve centre to drive investments, research and innovation while positioning Hyderabad as a premier global AI destination.
He welcomed Blaize’s interest in scaling its R&D centre and assured government support for building a pipeline of advanced AI talent.
The meeting also explored possible industry use-cases, including piloting AI solutions in healthcare diagnostics, manufacturing automation and energy efficiency, according to an official statement here on Wednesday.
