Bommai dares CM to apologise over SC quota U-turn

Bengaluru, Sept 6 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today launched a sharp attack on the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah, accusing it of creating “confusion, social injustice and political manipulation” in the implementation of the state’s reservation policy for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
Bommai, sharpening his criticism, reminded Siddaramaiah that he had opposed the BJP government’s decision to raise SC quota from 15 to 17 per cent in 2022, but has since accepted the same figure after coming to power.
“Today you too have accepted 17 per cent. Should you not apologise to the oppressed communities for misleading them earlier? If you now add even one more per cent, justice can be delivered to all,” Bommai said, calling out what he termed the Chief Minister’s “double standards.”
