BSP Chief vows to go it alone in UP elections next year, celebrates 70th birthday with workers

Lucknow, Jan 15 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, on her 70th birthday, announced that her party will contest the 2027 UP elections with full force and energy without alliances. She also appealed to the Brahmins and other communities to support BSP in the elections to get back their honour and respect.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday at party headquarters, she said that her party is fully prepared to contest the 2027 assembly elections at every level, and if there is no rigging or malpractice in the EVMs, the results will be better and in BSP's favour.
Talking about alliances, BSP supremo said that her party's experience with alliances in the past hasn't been good. While the partners benefited because of the transfer of Dalit votes, the votes of alliance partners didn't transfer to BSP kitty in the same fashion, harming the party's prospects.
