Caster survey: K'taka Minister accuses BJP of hypocrisy

Bengaluru, April 15 (UNI) Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Tuesday hit back at the BJP and JDS over their criticism of the caste survey, accusing them of hypocrisy and political convenience.
Speaking to media, Reddy said opposition parties, including BJP leader Vijayendra Yediyurappa, were calling for discarding the caste survey report though they remained silent when the process was underway.
"From 2019 to 2023, who was in power in Karnataka? Who nominated Kantharaju to head the Backward Classes Commission? It was the Congress. But Mr Jayaprakash Hegde was appointed by the BJP government. Why didn’t they raise any objections during their tenure? What were they doing all these years?" Reddy asked.
