CDS highlights jointness, self-reliance and innovation during maiden visit to Western Air Command

New Delhi, Jun 11 (UNI) Chief of Defence Staff General NS Raja Subramani on Thursday paid his maiden visit to the Headquarters Western Air Command (WAC), where he underscored the importance of Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation (JAI) as key pillars for building a future-ready and self-reliant Indian military.
During the visit, the CDS interacted with Air Marshal George Thomas, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Western Air Command, and addressed officers of the command. He highlighted the transformative role of integrated military functioning and stressed that human resource capital remains the ultimate force multiplier in enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Armed Forces.
General Subramani emphasised that the evolving security environment demands greater synergy among the three services, accelerated indigenous capability development, and a culture of innovation to maintain a technological and operational edge. He said the JAI framework aligns with India's broader vision of strengthening self-reliance in defence and enhancing joint warfighting capabilities.
