Chakma removed as Mizoram CADC chief executive member

Aizawl, Dec 11 (UNI) Rasik Mohan Chakma was removed from the office of Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) through a no-confidence motion during the first sitting of the Winter Session 2024-2025, held on Wednesday.
The motion was introduced by opposition member Dg. Doymoy Daveng Chakma under Rule 84 (1) of the CADC (Constitution, Conduct of Business, etc.) Rules, 2002. Out of 18 elected members present and voting, nine supported the motion, while eight opposed it. Two members were absent from the session.
Following the vote count, the Chairman declared the removal of the Executive Committee headed by Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma with immediate effect. The session was subsequently prorogued.
