Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' sets rollout of six-minute IMAX 70 mm trailer

Los Angeles, Dec 10 (UNI) Christopher Nolan's epic "The Odyssey" is inching closer to its theatrical debut next year and Universal Pictures is set to unveil an exclusive six-minute extended trailer on 70mm IMAX screens, the format in which the film was entirely shot.
The prologue will begin accompanying IMAX 70mm screenings of "Sinners" and "One Battle After Another" from December 12, offering audiences a rare, long-format glimpse into Nolan's reimagining of Homer's ancient saga, reports DEADLINE.
From December 19, a shorter version of the preview will appear at every screening of "Avatar: Fire and Ash", while the full-length IMAX prologue continues exclusively with IMAX presentations of the James Cameron film, further amplifying the momentum around Nolan's forthcoming work.
"The Odyssey" is slated to premiere on July 17, 2026 and is an adaptation of Homer’s epic poem about Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War.
The film’s cast includes Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, and Elliot Page, among others.
Holland is set to play Telemachus in the adaptation of Homer’s classic and has praised working with Nolan.
“The script is the best script I’ve ever read,” Holland is quoted as having said earlier this year.
On working with Nolan, Holland said the filmmaker “is a real collaborator,” adding, “He knows what he wants… but it is not an environment where you can’t pitch ideas or build characters in certain ways.”
