CII Telangana applauds GST 2.0 reforms; expected to spur economic growth Hyderabad, Sept 6 (UNI) Welcoming GST 2.0 reforms by Government of India, the

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Telangana today said that simplification of taxes is expected to spur economic growth.
In a jointment, CII Telangana Chairman RS Reddy and Vice Chairman M Goutham Reddy, mentioned that the Government of India’s rollout of GST 2.0 reforms has been highly appreciated across sectors for its inclusive, tech-driven, and growth-oriented approach to tax modernization.
By targeting core pain points and introducing systemic improvements, the new GST framework is being considered as a landmark move that benefits Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the food and agriculture sector, and many more, they said..
They also said that the MSME sector, which forms the backbone of India’s economy, is set to gain immensely from the simplified compliance structure introduced under GST 2.0. AI-powered invoice matching and auto-populated returns to reduce manual errors and consultant dependency.
Higher exemption thresholds, enabling smaller businesses to operate more freely. Faster refund cycles and seamless input tax credit mechanisms, helping MSMEs maintain healthy cash flows, they said and adding that these reforms are expected to increase formalization, reduce compliance costs, and empower small businesses to scale operations across state borders without facing bureaucratic hurdles.
GST 2.0 has introduced significant improvements tailored for India’s vast food sector. By rationalizing tax rates and clarifying product classifications, the reforms aim to reduce ambiguity and litigation, they said.
Efficient tax credit flow across agricultural inputs, processing, and logistics, resulting in lower end-consumer costs and improved supply chain competitiveness, they said that this will benefit not just food producers and processors, but also the millions of small traders and vendors in the sector.
The middle class—the driving force behind India’s consumption economy—stands to benefit directly from the improved transparency, pricing fairness, and digital accessibility embedded in GST 2.0, they said.
By enhancing compliance without increasing tax burden, GST 2.0 is expected to ensure that honest taxpayers, especially the salaried middle class, are not penalized due to system inefficiencies, they said.
GST 2.0 stands as a key pillar in achieving fiscal stability, and inclusive growth they added.
