CM calls for scientific studies on water receding or melting of glaciers

Shimla, Jan 13 (UNI) Showing concern over visible impact of large scale unsustainable development on frigile Himalyan Ecology, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu convened a review meeting of various departments and undertakings related to the energy sector on Monday night.
He instructed the power engineers and bureaucrats to conduct impact of water evaporation from various dams and water reservoirs during the summer season which have reportedly causing transition in weather conditions.
"The hike in the haze in different cities of the State was a matter of concern and emphasised that a scientific assessment on this issue was the need of the hour" he said terming it a warning sign.
