Condemnation of Pahalgam terror attack in SCO Declaration Diplomatic Victory for India: Gilbert Doctorow

New Delhi, Sep 10 (UNI) The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s (SCO) condemnation of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam is a “significant diplomatic victory” for India, Russian Affairs expert Gilbert Doctorow told UNI.
Doctorow said the move reflected India’s growing importance within the SCO. “I see it as a rise of India as an extremely important player in the organisation,” he said, adding that discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping underlined India’s potential to take on a greater role in the grouping — not just as a member but as one of its governing member.
He also highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s strong stand against terrorism at the summit, where he condemned double standards in global responses.
