Congress slams Amit Shah's 'infiltration' remarks, questions Home Minister's credibility

New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) Congress leader Pawan Khera on Sunday hit out at union Home Minister Amit Shah for attributing the rise in the Muslim population to “infiltration,” calling the remark divisive and asking what the Home Minister had been doing for the last 11 years.
Taking to platform X, Khera responded sharply, accusing Shah of attempting to polarize voters ahead of the upcoming elections.
Khera questioned the effectiveness of Shah's office as Home Minister, asking, "If the Muslim population has, as he claims, risen 'due to infiltration', what exactly was the Minister of Home Affairs doing for the last 11 years?" He highlighted the stark contrast in deportation numbers under Congress and BJP governments, stating that Congress deported 88,792 Bangladeshi nationals between 2005-2013, while the BJP government deported less than 10,000 in 11 years.
