Congress stalls Question Hour in Odisha Assembly over rising crimes against women

Bhubaneswar, March 20 (UNI) Agitated Congress members on Thursday stalled the Question Hour in the Odisha Assembly, protesting against the rising atrocities on women and demanding better safety measures for women in the state.
The Opposition Congress members resorted to a novel protest by blowing whistles inside the well of the House to register their dissent.
On Wednesday, Congress members disrupted the proceedings of the House, demanding the formation of a House Committee to probe the increasing crimes against women in the state.

Female peddler nabbed with 494 31 gm of heroin in Arunachal's Changlang

Itanagar, Apr 26 (UNI) In a major breakthrough under Operation Dawn 2.0, the Anti-Drug Squad of Changlang District Police has apprehended a female drug peddler and seized 494.31 grams of suspected heroin, along with a cash amount of Rs 1,95,900, believed to be proceeds from the illegal drug trade.

Kolkata, Apr 26 (UNI) A massive fire broke out at Dhapa, along the Basanti Highway, city's eastern fringe area, destroying scores of godowns stacked with plastic, tyre and other inflammable articles on Saturday even as some 15 fire fighting vehicles were pressed into service to combat the flames.
