Congress, Uddhav Sena accuse Sharad Pawar-led NCP of secret nexus with BJP

Mumbai, Jun 6 (UNI) Maharashtra's opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) parties, Congress and Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, accused the Sharad Pawar-led NCP of being hand in glove with the ruling BJP on Saturday after the candidate fielded by the Sharad Pawar-led NCP from Pune, withdrew from the Legislative Council (Vidhan Sabha) election at the last minute.
It may be recalled that the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) faced a major setback after its candidates withdrew their candidature on Thursday, ensuring that ruling BJP-led Mahayuti alliance may win as many as five seats in the Legislative Council (Vidhan Parishad) election unopposed.
Sharad Pawar-led NCP candidate Shrikant Patil withdrew his nomination from the Pune Legislative Council constituency on June 4, which allowed ruling Mahayuti's Sunetra Ajit Pawar-led NCP candidate Vikram Kakade to be elected unopposed to the Maharashtra Legislative Council.
