CPA to impress upon Centre to take steps for NE’s sustainable development

Dimapur, Nov 12 (UNI) The two-day 22nd annual conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region Zone-Ill, convened in Kohima from November 10 to 11, unanimously resolved to impress upon the central government to initiate dialogue with all respective state governments of the Northeast to assess, and prepare a comprehensive and sustainable development plan of the region by taking into account its ethnic diversity.
The resolution, received today, said the presiding officers from across the Northeast state legislatures reaffirmed their commitment to parliamentary democracy, inclusive development, and regional cooperation.
The meeting also unanimously resolved to review and renew the commitment of the region's respective state legislatures to encourage legislators to connect with the people and contribute to and participate in the mission towards a developed Northeast region as a partner of Viksit Bharat 2047.
