Cyclonic storm intensifies into severe cyclonic storm

Chennai, Oct 4 (UNI) The cyclonic storm over Northeast Arabian sea intensified into a severe cyclonic storm today. Met office said the cyclonic storm “Shakhti” over northeast Arabian Sea moved westwards with a speed of 13 kmph during last 6 hours, further intensified into severe cyclonic storm and lay centered at 0530 hrs IST of today over the same region.
It now lay centred about 420 km west of Dwarka, 420 km west-southwest of Naliya, 390 km south-southwest of Karachi (Pakistan) and 480 km west of Porbandar.
It is likely to move west-southwestwards and reach northwest and adjoining west central Arabian Sea by tomorrow. Thereafter, it will recurve and move east-northeastwards from morning of October 6 and weaken gradually.

42 Indian pilgrims killed in Saudi Arabia bus-tanker collision

Hyderabad, Nov 17 (UNI) As many as 42 Indian pilgrims lost their lives when a bus collided with a diesel tanker in the early hours of Monday in Saudi Arabia. Most of the victims are believed to be from Hyderabad, with reports indicating that at least 16 were residents of the Mallepally and Bazarghat areas.
