Delhi airport operations normal amid Operation Sindoor

New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan under Operation Sindoor, operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here remain normal, airport authorities said on Thursday.
In an official post on X, Delhi Airport advised passengers to stay updated through their respective airlines, cautioning that while flight operations continue as usual, some services may be impacted owing to changes in airspace conditions and heightened security measures.
"Delhi Airport operations remain normal. Some flights are impacted due to changing airspace conditions and heightened security. Please check with your airlines for the latest updates. We urge everyone to rely on official sources and avoid sharing unverified information. We are working closely with all stakeholders to minimise any inconvenience,” the statement read.
National carrier Air India issued a separate advisory, urging travellers to report at airports at least three hours ahead of departure in view of fresh directives from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.
"Travel Advisory: In view of an order by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security on enhanced measures at airports, passengers across India are advised to arrive at their respective airports at least three hours prior to scheduled departure to ensure smooth check-in and boarding. Check-in closes 75 mins before departure,” Air India posted on X.
Private carrier Akasa Airlines also issued a similar travel update, reminding flyers to carry valid government-issued photo ID cards and to adhere to hand baggage restrictions.
"Due to enhanced security measures at all airports across India, we request you to reach the airport at least 3 hours prior to departure, to ensure a seamless check-in and boarding experience. Only 1 handbag up to 7 kg will be permitted in addition to check-in baggage. All passengers will be required to undergo secondary security checks prior to boarding," Akasa Airlines said. UNI BDN SSP
