New Delhi, June 13 (UNI) A delegation representing Delhi's villages led by Palam 360 chief Chaudhary Surender Solanki on Saturday met chief minister Rekha Gupta and discussed several crucial issues directly affecting the entire rural belt, and its residents.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted concerns regarding ongoing demolition and sealing drives in certain areas following recent incidents. Addressing the issue, Solanki stated that the delegation urged the government to ensure that the actions of a few individuals do not result in undue hardship for entire communities.
According to Solanki, the Chief Minister assured the delegation that "no demolition action" would be taken against existing ground-plus-four-floor structures in villages and their extended habitation areas.
He further said that Gupta advised villagers "not to be misled or intimidated" and encouraged them to "inform the government if any official attempts to take unjust action."
The delegation also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for enhancing crop damage compensation for farmers in Delhi to Rs 75,000 per acre.
Solanki described the compensation amount as the highest offered anywhere in the country.
On the issues of circle rates and the Delhi Master Plan, Solanki said the Chief Minister assured the delegation that the government would make announcements on these matters in the near future.
He noted that Delhi's villages are currently undergoing significant transformation and that the government has initiated several development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and public services in rural areas that had long remained neglected. The delegation included Chaudhary Dhara Singh of Bawana, Chaudhary Naresh Pradhan of Lado Sarai, Karan Singh Dabas Khap, Chaudhary Rajendra Dagar and other representatives from Delhi's rural communities.UNI XC AAB
