Dengue claims one life in Mizoram this year, 369 infected

Aizawl, Sep 8 (UNI) One person has died from dengue in Mizoram between January and August this year, with 369 people testing positive for the virus during the same period, officials from the state health and family welfare department reported on Sunday.
The department tested 5,736 samples from suspected dengue cases, confirming 369 infections. The deceased, a resident of Aizawl district, marks the state’s eighth recorded dengue-related death. Five fatalities occurred in 2022, two in 2023, and one this year.
Aizawl district recorded the highest number of infections, with 217 cases, followed by Lunglei district in southern Mizoram, which reported 131 cases.
