Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya pays tribute to Green Tara in Russia; inaugurates exhibition of Buddha's dacred relics in Kalmykia

Lucknow, October 12 (UNI) In a significant step towards enhancing cultural and spiritual diplomacy, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya, visited the Republic of Kalmykia, Russia, where he offered floral tributes at the statue of Green Tara Devi in the under-construction Lord Buddha Park in Elista, the capital city.According to an official communique released here on Sunday evening, Maurya prayed for prosperity and peace for all, invoking blessings from Green Tara, the embodiment of compassion and wisdom. The Deputy CM also reviewed the progress of the temple and park's construction and was briefed on key aspects related to the project.Maurya is leading a high-level Indian delegation accompanying the sacred Piprahwa relics of Lord Buddha to Elista, where a grand eight-day exhibition was inaugurated on October 11.
The relics were transported from India aboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft. The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), National Museum, and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA).
Speaking at the Golden Abode of Shakyamuni Buddha Monastery, the largest Buddhist temple in Europe, the Deputy CM said,"The sacred relics exhibition in Kalmykia will deepen the cultural and political ties between India and Russia. Lord Buddha's message of peace, compassion, and humanity is a timeless inspiration for the entire world."
