Desperation to reach first caused New Delhi station stampede: Manjhi

Patna, Feb 16 (UNI) Union Minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi on Sunday said that "desperation to reach first" led to the stampede at New Delhi Railway station, claiming 18 lives and leaving over a dozen injured.
Manjhi told media persons here that good arrangements were made for Mahakumbh in Uttar Pradesh where the Yogi Adityanath government had tried to ensure hassle-free visits of pilgrims to Prayagraj. Similarly, Railways had also made appropriate arrangements for passengers travelling to Prayagraj to take holy dip in Sangam, he added.
