Double engine govt take plight of farmers in Maha: IAC chief

Pune, Feb 17 (UNI) Despite many initiatives taken by the BJP-led central and state governments to bring farmers into mainstream of development, some farmers in Maharashtra are still deprived of government benefits due to lack of documentation, hence the Agriculture Department look into this and provide benefits to such farmers, demanded Hemant Patil, national president of India Against Corruption and OBC leader, on Monday.
The central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has undertaken the task of bringing farmers who has always been deprived of the mainstream of development, to the fore. Along with the Centre, farmers are getting support from the state government, the 'double engine' government is proving to be a savior for food donors, said Patil in a release here.
He said that more than 20 lakh beneficiary farmers in the state are getting Rs 6,000 every year under the PM Kisan Samman Yojana while the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, is providing financial assistance of Rs 6,000 to farmers through the 'Namo Shetkari' Yojana.
