DRI seizes 522 kg ganja worth Rs 2.61 crore in Nagpur, two held

Nagpur, June 6 (UNI): The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Nagpur Regional Unit under the Mumbai Zonal Unit, has busted an interstate narcotics trafficking syndicate and seized over 522 kg of ganja valued at Rs 2.61 crore in Maharashtra’s Nagpur district, officials said on Saturday.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, DRI officials intercepted a vehicle near the Delhi Mathani Toll Plaza in Mouda tehsil on National Highway No. 53, a key route connecting the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border with Maharashtra.
During a thorough search of the vehicle, officials recovered 247 packets of ganja weighing over 522 kg, concealed in multiple hidden compartments, including cavities behind the driver’s seat, above the cabin seats, inside a locked toolbox beneath the cargo area, and on top of the driver’s cabin.
