Drunk man allegedly slits throat of pregnant wife, 18-month-old son in Kanpur

Kanpur, Jan 12 (UNI) A horrifying double murder has shaken Kanpur district after a man allegedly killed his pregnant wife and their 18-month-old son by slitting their throats with a sharp-edged weapon. The incident took place in Udaipur (Shardepur) village under the Ghatampur police station area, police said on Monday.
According to police, the accused has been identified as Surendra Yadav alias Swami, a truck helper by profession and a resident of Shardepur, a hamlet of Gopalpur village. He is reportedly addicted to alcohol.
Yadav had married Ruby, a native of Fatehpur district, in 2021. Villagers and family members said the couple frequently argued due to Yadav’s drinking habit, which often led to domestic violence.
