EC announces schedule for 17 seats of Maha Legislative Council elections

Mumbai, May 20 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the schedule for the long-delayed elections to 17 seats of the Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) from the Local Authorities' Constituencies.
Polling will take place on June 18, and with the results will be declared on June 22.

Maulana surrenders before Nagpur police in conversion, rape case; Police to seek custody

Nagpur, Jun 18 (UNI) A Maulana accused of facilitating the alleged forced conversion and rape of a 24-year-old woman surrendered before Nagpur Police late Wednesday night after remaining absconding for several days, police said on Thursday.
The accused, identified as Hazrat, a resident of Tamia in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district, appeared at Sonegaon police station and surrendered, a senior police official said.
According to police, multiple teams had been deployed to trace him, with officers camping in Tamia for the past several days.
