EC tightens poll watch: Verified signatures, anti-defacement squads active

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 13 (UNI) The Kerala State Election Commission has tightened election protocols ahead of the upcoming local body polls, issuing detailed directions on symbol allocation and campaign monitoring.
As per the latest notification, political parties must submit the signatures of their authorised officials—attested by state-level office bearers—while recommending election symbols for candidates.
These attested documents must be handed over to the District Election Officer, with a copy sent to the State Election Commission.

Kakinada, Dec 15 (UNI) YSR Congress party staged a massive rally in the main road from Bhanugudi junction to YS Rajasekhara Reddy statue in Balaji cheruvu center on Monday, as a part of the agitation against the government’s decision to privatize the Government medical colleges under the pretext of PPP policy.
The massive rally was organized as a part of the programme to transport the bundles containing one crore signatures mobilized from various constituencies to the party office in Kakinada and from there to the party headquarters in Thadepalli for submitting them to the Governor.
