ED busts SIM card fraud network linked to Malaysian nationals, Cambodia cybercrime

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI): The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Jaipur Zonal Office, on Monday said it recently conducted search operations at seven premises across Kishangarh (Ajmer), Nagaur, Jodhpur, and Ludhiana (Punjab) in connection with a cyber fraud case involving Malaysian nationals.
The case pertains to the fraudulent activation of Indian mobile numbers by Point of Sale (POS) vendors and their subsequent supply to Malaysian nationals, who allegedly operated them from Cambodia to commit cyber frauds in India.
The ED initiated its investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) based on an FIR registered by the Cyber Police Station, DCP (Crime), Jodhpur, against certain POS vendors for the misuse of SIM cards.
