Election expenditure limits fixed for Kerala local body polls

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 15 (UNI) The State Election Commission (SEC) has announced the maximum expenditure limits for candidates contesting the upcoming local body elections in Kerala.
As per the revised guidelines, candidates can spend up to ₹25,000 in gram panchayat elections, ₹75,000 in block panchayat polls, and ₹1,50,000 in district panchayat contests. For municipality elections, the expenditure cap is ₹75,000, while those contesting in municipal corporations can spend up to ₹1,50,000.
The SEC clarified that these limits apply to expenses incurred both by the candidate and their election agent. To ensure strict monitoring, expenditure observers will be appointed in all districts.
