Golden Globes: Adrian Brody noses out Timothée Chalamet for Best Actor

Beverly Hills, Jan 5 (UNI) Adrian Brody was adjudged the Best Actor in Drama Film at the 2025 Golden Globes for his haunting performance in "The Brutalist", edging out heavyweights like Timothée Chalamet, Ralph Fiennes and Daniel Craig
The win on Sunday marked a career milestone for the 51-year-old actor, who had previously won an Oscar for "The Pianist" but had yet to secure a Golden Globe, until now.
Brody's performance as an ambitious architect navigating post-war America captivated both audiences and critics, contributing to the film's success at the ceremony.
The actor's win was part of a larger triumph for "The Brutalist", which also clinched the award for the Best Drama Film.
Brody took a moment to express his heartfelt gratitude in his acceptance speech, saying, “cherish this moment forever,” acknowledging director Brody Cornet's vision and his family's unwavering support. “At the core of The Brutalist, it’s really a story about the human capacity for creation,” said Brody, whose director, Brady Corbet, won earlier in the evening.
Timothée Chalamet, who has now been nominated four times at the Golden Globes without a win, once again left empty-handed. His depiction of a young Bob Dylan in "A Complete Unknown" which follows the singer's early days in New York as he forges his path in the folk music scene, was lauded for its depth and authenticity.
Chalamet’s co-star Edward Norton, who portrayed the role of folk legend Pete Seeger, praised his film’s leading man, telling Vanity Fair, “Does this movie get made without Timothée being unusually right to play [Dylan]? Let’s forget whether Timothée has had some hit movies lately that helped them rationalise in making this movie, which is great. I think it’s so beautiful that he said, ‘This is what I want to do'", according to a report by Vanity Fair. UNI XC SSP
