Lyricist Manoj Muntashir lambasts Sky Force makers over credits for lyrics

Mumbai, Jan 8 (UNI) Esteemed Bollywood lyricist and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir has come down heavily on the makers of "Sky Force" for failing to accord him due credit for his lyrical contributions in the recently released song "Maaye".
On January 7, Jio Studios shared the teaser of the song on X (formerly Twitter). Sung by B Praak with music composed by Tanishk Bagchi, the brief clip credited the song to the duo but made no mention of Manoj Muntashir's contribution.
While the "Sky Force" team tagged him in the caption, this omission did not go unnoticed by the lyricist, known for crafting memorable numbers likr "Teri Mitti", "Galliyan" and "Tere Sang Yaara"
Expressing his discontent, Muntashir replied, “Please note @jiostudios, @MaddockFilms @saregamaglobal This song is not just sung and composed but also written by someone who has given all his blood and sweat to it.”
He continued, “Removing writer's name from the opening credits shows utter disrespect for the craft and fraternity by the makers.” The writer threatened, “If it’s not corrected immediately, including the main song releasing tomorrow, I am going to disown the song and make sure my voice is heard by the law of the land. Shame. @IPRSmusic.”
This is not the first time the lyricist has been at the centre of controversy. Muntashir previously faced backlash for co-writing the dialogues and lyrics of the mythological epic "Adipurush", which was dragged to court for its content.
Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapoor and Sandeep Kewlani, the film is produced under Maddock Films by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, with Jyoti Deshpande from Jio Studios also at the helm of production. The star studded lineup casts Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, Sharad Kelkar and debutant Veer Pahariya.
It is scheduled to hit the theatres on January 24. UNI XC SSP
