Jonathan Bailey crowned Sexiest Man Alive 2025

London, Nov 4 (UNI) British actor Jonathan Bailey has officially been named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2025, solidifying his ascent from theatre darling to international heartthrob.
The announcement was made on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday evening, unveiling the "Bridgerton" breakout as the newest name to join the magazine's iconic roster of global favourites.
At 37, Bailey has transcended his period-drama fame, transitioning seamlessly into mainstream cinema with captivating performances in "Jurassic World Rebirth", "Wicked" and the sequel "Wicked: For Good".
On hearing the news that he had taken the title, Bailey told People, “I mean, it’s a huge honour. Obviously, I’m incredibly flattered. And it’s completely absurd.” He added, “I’m quite excited for some friends and family to find out.”
Hailing from Oxfordshire, England, Bailey started as a child actor in the U.K., graduating to become an acclaimed theatre performer for the likes of the Royal Shakespeare Company and productions on London’s West End. His big TV break came with starring in ITV’s hit whodunnit murder drama "Broadchurch" and later nabbed the role of Lord Anthony Bridgerton in the Shonda Rhimes-produced Netflix Regency drama "Bridgerton".
Bailey, who is openly gay, has also earned praise for his roles in LGBTQ dramas like "Fellow Travellers" and "Heartstopper", reports The Hollywood Reporter.
As well as Krasinski in 2024, past recipients of the People‘s Sexiest Man Alive title include Chris Evans, John Legend, Michael B. Jordan, Paul Rudd, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Hemsworth, Bradley Cooper, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Richard Gere, Channing Tatum and David Beckham. UNI NST SSP
