Varun Dhawan’s first look from “Border 2” redefines valor and patriotism

New Delhi, Nov 5 (UNI) The first-look poster of Varun Dhawan from the much-awaited war epic “Border 2” has been unveiled, offering fans a glimpse of the actor in a powerful, action-packed avatar.
T-Series sharing the poster on Instagram wrote, “Border uska farz hai aur Bharat uska pyaar! Border2 releasing on 23rd January, 2026.”
The striking poster shows Dhawan as an Indian soldier on the front lines, armed, battle-worn, and determined, marking what producers describe as a “never-seen-before transformation.” His look embodies the grit, bravery, and patriotic spirit that defined the original “Border.”
This revelation follows the release of the first poster featuring franchise icon Sunny Deol, who returns to his signature role. With Dhawan’s entry, the sequel aims to bring “a new generation of courage” to the story while staying true to the franchise’s legacy of brotherhood, sacrifice, and valor.
The original 1997 film “Border,” set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, depicted the Battle of Longewala, where a small Indian battalion heroically held off a massive Pakistani assault.
Directed by Anurag Singh, known for the 2019 hit “Kesari” starring Akshay Kumar, “Border 2” promises another large-scale portrayal of wartime heroism. The film features a stellar ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, and Sonam Bajwa.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, with Krishan Kumar joining the production team, the film is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with J.P. Dutta’s JP Films.
Set for release on January 23, 2026, “Border 2” is strategically timed around India’s Republic Day weekend and is being billed as one of the most anticipated cinematic spectacles of 2026, continuing the “Border” franchise’s proud salute to the heroism of Indian soldiers.
