Hollywood star Arnold Vosloo makes Indian cinema debut with 'Ranabaali'

Mumbai, June 16 (UNI) Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, who is celebrating his 65th birthday on Tuesday, is all set to make his Indian cinema debut with the film "Ranabaali".
On the occasion of Vosloo's birthday, the filmmakers have released his character poster from the film, introducing him as "The Demon of Drought," i.e., Sir Theodore Hector.
Produced under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, the historical action drama features Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. The film has already generated considerable excitement among audiences. The revelation of Vosloo's character has only further increased the excitement.
Vosloo, a South African actor who shifted to the United States in the 1980s, appears impressive and mysterious in the film's poster. His metallic cape and smoke-shrouded appearance suggest a powerful and significant role. Vosloo, who gained worldwide popularity playing Imhotep in "The Mummy" franchise, will be appearing in an Indian film for the first time.
Sharing the poster, the makers wrote that Vosloo, who won audiences' hearts as Imhotep in "The Mummy," now embarks on a new journey as the ruthless Sir Theodore Hector in "Ranabaali," and welcomed him to Indian cinema with birthday wishes.
Set in the colonial era, "Ranabaali" is inspired by untold and real-life events from Indian history. Vijay Deverakonda plays the fearless warrior in the film, while Mandanna plays his wife, Jayamma.
The film's romantic song "O Mere Sajan" is also proving very popular with audiences. The song has garnered over 100,000 reels on social media and over 3 million views on YouTube.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film is produced by Y. Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni of Mythri Movie Makers in association with T-Series. "Ranabaali" to arrive in theaters worldwide on September 11, 2026. UNI NST SSP
