Factional rift erupts at Hisar Congress bhawan as District presidents clash on stage

Chandigarh, Nov 18 (UNI) A Congress protest over alleged vote theft descended into chaos on Tuesday when the party’s urban and rural district presidents clashed publicly at the Hisar Congress Bhawan. The altercation unfolded in the presence of Haryana Congress chief Rao Narendra Singh and Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda, embarrassing the party leadership.
The dispute broke out over who would conduct the stage proceedings. Urban district president Bajrang Das Garg attempted to take charge of the microphone, but rural district president Brijlal Bahbalpuriya objected, asserting that he had prior approval from senior leaders. Both leaders were seen pulling the microphone toward themselves, resulting in a brief scuffle on stage.
The confrontation ended only after former Hansi candidate Rahul Makkar intervened. Soon after, Garg walked out of the venue. Sources noted that tensions between the two leaders were not new: Bahbalpuriya is perceived as close to Randeep Surjewala, while Garg is aligned with the Hooda camp. Garg had also stayed away from taking charge at the district office for months following his appointment.
