Fake 'Intelligence Officers' caught near Pathankot Air Force Station

Chandigarh, May 11 (UNI) The Punjab Police have apprehended three youths near the high-security Pathankot Air Force Station after they allegedly attempted to impersonate intelligence officials using a forged identity card.
The arrests took place during a special night-checking operation at a barricade near Naushera Nalbanda. According to officials, the suspects were travelling in an i20 car when they were stopped by a team led by ASI Sartaj Singh around 11 pm.
During the initial questioning, the driver identified himself as Constable Sunir Sharma and presented a police identity card, claiming to be on a covert intelligence assignment. However, the situation turned suspicious when the other two occupants failed to produce any valid identification. Upon closer inspection by the officers on duty, the identity card provided by the driver was found to be a sophisticated forgery, prompting the police to take all three individuals into custody.
