Falta's 'Pushpa' Jahangir Khan arrested near Nepal border; STF foils alleged bid to flee abroad

Kolkata, June 8 (UNI) Jahangir Khan, the controversial Falta strongman who had once likened himself to the fictional character "Pushpa", was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the West Bengal Police near the Nepal border while allegedly attempting to escape the country, police sources said on Monday.
He was apprehended by the police on Sunday night.
According to investigators, Khan had been absconding since the declaration of the Assembly election results and was allegedly planning to flee abroad through the Nepal-Bangladesh route. The STF tracked him down after weeks of surveillance and arrested him before he could execute the plan.

Centre allocates Rs 1,718 cr to Odisha under SDRF for 2026-27 fiscal
